Big announcement: Launch date & Updates

It’s been a while since our last blog post, but fear not — we’ve not been idle this whole time. At the end of March, we hosted our closed alpha test and the first people were able to experience the Serverwave panel firsthand. It was a big success and we received valuable feedback. We are very grateful to these people for contributing to making Serverwave the best platform currently available.
Monthly Subscription
One of the most requested features during the alpha test was monthly subscriptions. We’ve listened and will support this option at launch in the form of Static Billing. When creating a new server, you will now have the option to select Dynamic Billing, which charges per hour only for the resources you use, or Static Billing. This type is what people are probably more familiar with from other hosting companies. Pricing is yet to be confirmed

Don’t worry, it wouldn’t be Serverwave if we didn’t have something up our sleeves. Our platform is all about flexibility, and we want to keep this flexibility even if you intend to pay for a monthly subscription. That is why we are working on a system where you are not stuck with your subscription. If you’ve had enough of Minecraft but want to play another game instead — no worries. Our system is designed so that you can keep your active subscription but create a new server for a new game.
Or let’s say you have too many subscriptions and you want to reduce some costs by switching to dynamic billing instead. We can also accommodate this: if you have remaining time on your current subscription, you can add these days to a different subscription you already have.

Reworked Core Apps
Serverwave is built on some 25+ smaller applications that work together. As we continue to push the boundaries of game hosting, we learn more and more, and sometimes have to adapt our approach. This is what happened with some apps running in the background, which meant we had to recode them to make them more future-proof. These changes will make it possible, for example, to easily support more games in the future.
Some more noticeable aspects we have worked a lot on are the console and file manager. These have been completely rewritten.
Backups
We’ve all had that one time when you place some TNT in your world and “by accident” it explodes. Sometimes you want to revert this, since the house you built does look better than a massive crater. This will also be supported at launch and will be standard on all servers we host. The screenshot below showcases an early concept of the backup storage. We are still in the stages of finalizing the backup system, so things might change. What will not change is that your latest backup(s) will remain free of charge and can be restored at any time.

The release date - 30/10/2025
The team still has a big road ahead of us but is working really hard to get everything ready in time — and we are confident we will. That is why today we want to announce a release date: Serverwave will be available to everyone on 30 October 2025.
There it is, we’ve set it. Now we have to go back to work to deliver on this promise, because our work doesn’t end when we release. We have many more features in the pipeline that won’t be available at launch. If we wait until all of these are finished, we would likely never launch, as we do not intend to stop adding new features anytime soon.

Here's a sneakpeak of what is yet to come after release:
Archiving Servers
If you want to stop playing for a while but don’t want to delete your server files just yet, we are working on a system where you can archive your server files free of charge and reactivate your server later on when you want to continue where you left off.
Dedicated Game Servers
We’ve already teased it in the screenshot above, but we will offer an option for dedicated game servers. This will not be available at release. Dedicated game servers give you the benefit of being hosted on more powerful hardware, and the resources such as CPU and RAM are not shared with other servers — they will be completely yours. We’ve designed this feature for larger servers that benefit from more stable CPU performance and more powerful hardware.
